NHS Hitachi Ventura Case Study

The challenge

We worked with Hitachi Ventura on a project for Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust Hospital (SRFT). We were commissioned to assist in the first phase of the creation of a ‘Digital Control Centre’ – a digital tool to help transform the hospital’s operations and ‘improve care with data’.

The solution

In order to help build this system, our consultants carried out video workshops to aid in the creation of complex wireframes. Simultaneously, a full UI audit took place, reviewing the current design inventory and identifying which new assets had to be created. Once completed, a Design System was made, making sure accessibility was of paramount importance.

Video Workshops

As this project was complex and required detailed knowledge, video workshops were held with both hospital staff and business analysts to gather the necessary information needed to create the wireframes.

Lauren Nicholson

UX consultant

The project was incredibly challenging, but it was rewarding to work on something that had incredible potential to improve patient care. I had so much admiration for everyone involved!

UI Design

The design system was created to ensure all colours, icons and fonts met W3 WCAG standards and that all designs would be clear and legible on both small desktop screens and fifty-inch TV screens in the wards.
